“The Bridgeport Ballerz is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that aims to become a nationally-recognized basketball team. However, we believe that education holds greater significance than basketball. Our program is designed to instill values in children through basketball. We educate them on important attributes like teamwork, dedication, and consistency, with the hope that our players will apply these values in all areas of their lives.”
“Our program is free, which is important to us for two reasons. Firstly, it gives us the leverage we need to hold our players accountable. Secondly, it helps families who may not be able to afford traditional AAU programs to still participate. Unlike other programs, we measure the success of our program by how many of our athletes excel in the classroom and ultimately graduate, move on to college, and become productive members of society.”
“Our coaching staff has a strong belief in our model that they put their own money towards gym rentals, uniforms, bags, and tournament fees. As a result, players who join our organization can focus on excelling in the classroom, improving their skill set, and maintaining good character without worrying about any financial burden.”
“To continue our efforts, the Bridgeport Ballerz are seeking donations from the community. We aspire to be a positive influence in the lives of our players until they are old enough to return and be a positive influence in someone else’s life.”
